Hoy fue mas divertido que ayer. Primero, pudimos dormir mas tiempo y tambien comimos un desayuno muy bueno en el hotel. Despues, fuimos a visitar el Palacio Real. Lo siento Maestra, pero no es tan bueno como Italia :-) pero es muy muy bonito. Las salas en el palacio estan decoradas con mucho oro y relojes extravagantes. Es interesante que el rey y la reina ya no so monarcas absolutos sino que son una monarquia constitucional. Tambien fue interesante aprender que las sillas de los reyes en la sal de trono son solo para rituales. Los reyes no se sientan en ellas. El Rey de Espana se llama Juan Carlos y la Reina se llama Sofia. Es interesante que los reyes actuales de España son de la dinastia de los Borbones.
Today was a lot more fun then yesterday. First, we were able to sleep in longer and we also got to eat a great breakfast at the hotel. Then we visited the Palacio Real (Royal Palace). I'm sorry Maestra but it is not as nice as Italy :-) but it is still very very beautiful The rooms in the palace are decorated in gold and have extravagant clocks everywhere. Its interesting that the king and queen are not absolute monarchs instead Spain has a constitutional monarchy. It's also interesting that the chairs in the throne room are only used for rituals. The king and queen don't get to sit in them! Juan Carlos is the King of Spain and Sofia is the Queen of Spain. Spain's two monarchs belong to the Bourbons dynasty.
Despues de visitar el Palacio Real, fuimos a un come gelato. En la gelateria tenian gelato de chocolate y tambien de Whiskey. Scott y yo selecionaos gelato de Whisky. Luego caminamos a un restaurante italiano cerca del Paseo del Prado y el Palacio de Comunicaciones. Aqui es donde el Real Madrid y La Roja celebran sus victorias en La Copa Mundial y La Copa de Europa. Pedi un pizza para compartir con el resto de la mesa y de plato principal comi pasta carbonara.
After we visited the Palacio Real, we stopped for some gelato. In the gelateria they had chocolate and whisky gelato. Scott and I selected the whisky gelato. Then we walked to an italian restaurant near the Paseo del Prado and the Palacio de Comunicaciones. This is where the Real Madrid and Spain's National Team celebrate their World Cup and Euro Cup victories. I ordered a pizza to share with the rest of the table and fettuccine carbonara as my main dish.
Por la tarde fuimos al Museo de la Reina Sofia pero estaba cerrado osea que iremos el jueves. Tomamos el metro hacia nuestro hotel. Sin embargo en el metro conocimos a unos chicos universitarios de los Estados Unidos. Ellos nos dijeron que iban a la Plaza de Espana y les seguimos y el resto de nuestro grupo se quedo en el metro. Jake y yo nos perdimos y Maestra nos llamo y mando textos hasta que llegamos al hotel. Fue nuestra aventura! Ahora tengo sueno y me voy a dormir. Buenas noches!
In the afternoon we walked to the Reina Sofia Museum but it was closed so we will go on Thursday. We took the metro back to our hotel. On the metro we meet some college students from the USA. They told us that they were also going to Plaza de Espana so we followed them until we realized the rest of the group was still on the metro. Jake and I got lost and Maestra helped us back to the hotel. It was an adventure! Now I'm sleepy and I want to got to bed. Goon night!
